2022 Wassail Festival and Family Day
Every year at Spirit Tree, we host our Wassail Festival on Family Day. What is a Wassail Festival?
In ancient England, the townspeople would sing and dance in the orchard, believing they were waking up the trees after a long winter and scaring away any bad spirits. They would hang cider-soaked bread on the branches as an offering to the trees to ensure a good harvest that year. This will be our 12th Wassail Festival and we have had 12 years of fruitful harvests!
Join us on Monday, February 21 for our Annual Wassail Festival.
What to expect:
At 11:30 and 1:30 – the Orange Peel Carollers will be joining us for the traditional Wassail song and dance. They will lead a procession into the orchard to offer the trees cider-soaked bread
Free hot cider and cookies!
Skating on the back pond (weather permitting)
Crafts for the kids – you kids can make Wassail noise makers to take into the orchard to wake up the trees!
This event is OUTDOORS, but please respect social distancing at all times.
